自我介紹

I’m a senior in the Department of Geography at National Taiwan University with a double major in international relations.

I’m interested in geopolitics, regional conflict and international cooperation and development. I like to use maps to visualize these topics because I believe that maps are the best tool for showing the relations between space and power. I joined a team of “knowledge volunteers” known as the MERIT to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), in order to conduct a one-month exchanges, researches and inquires project this summer. In this project I not only do some cultural exchanges with people in RMI, but doing some basic academic study about Taiwanese soft power as Taiwan Technical Mission there (see more details: http://www.ntu.edu.tw/english/highlights/2009/he090917_1.html). In this year as a senior, I plan to postpone my graduation for one more year for preparing another trip to developing world.

I like to play the clarinet and also love to try any kind of musical instrument. I have one-year experience in middle school Chinese Orchestra, two-year experience in 建國(Chien-kuo) Senior High School Marching Band (final in Calgary Stamped: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfNqi9b1lCM) and three-year experience in NTU Wind Band, serving as Liuqin（柳葉琴）, Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet and Bass clarinet player.

I live near the Taipei Song-shan Airport with my elder brother, who is now on active duty ,and my lovely parents, both are retired. I like to ride my bike to the airport to enjoy the beauty of aircraft landing and taking-off. Transportation and military technology, especially aviation, are my favorites. I plan to ride my bike around the island with visiting hundreds of railway stations and all ten airports. I believe that one day transportation systems will connect the entire human race to build a thriving, prosperous world.
